Titanfall
Despite being a Western-developed game and perhaps the embodiment – at first – of what makes shooters so popular in the West, Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall has been awarded the Future Award at this year’s Tokyo Game Show according to the developer on Twitter.

Titanfall is vastly different from other first person shooters such as Battlefield or Call of Duty since your troops are equipped with jet-packs to hover, wall-run and essentially traverse entire levels in a hurry.

The real game-changed is the edition of hulking mechs known as Titans that players can seamlessly enter and battle with, using high powered weaponry and sheer size. Titanfall also differs in its fundamental campaign – despite elements of a single-player mode such as briefing scenes, NPCs and slightly branching paths, it will be an online-only title.

Titanfall is currently slated to release next year for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
