Titanfall’s Final Map Pack To Be Revealed This Week

At Gamescom.

Titanfall: Expedition

When Titanfall launched earlier this year, as the next big project from the former creators of Call of Duty, it wasn’t as big of a deal as everyone figured it would be, but it was a pretty good game nonetheless. And though its online community hasn’t been nearly as active as you would expect for a flagship multiplayer shooter, it’s still there, and it’s fun.

Over time, Titanfall has received two map packs; the final one is due out soon, and it will be revealed later this week during Gamescom, the game’s official Twitter said.

Of course, having only three map packs, each pack with just three new maps, and all of them released within the span of the game’s first year, with no immediate sequel following either… that’s not how you cultivate an online community, guys. The one year/fewer map packs strategy may have made sense for a heavily populated annual franchise like Call of Duty, but for a relatively sparse one shot like Titanfall? Yeah guys, that rubs me off the wrong way.
