We’re just leaving the European based Gamescom conference, the biggest such conference in the region. There we saw a lot of big announcements and footage from upcoming games to tide us over for a good while. But while one conference comes to an end, another is on the horizon with the annual Tokyo Game Show, and it looks like this year is the biggest ever.

In a press release from the Japanese Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, the organizers of the event, they said the scope of this year’s TGS was the biggest in history. It will feature 2,417 booths, 655 exhibitors and 1,368 games, which breaks ever single record from the event’s past.

Despite Japan’s overall game market not being as important as it once was, as home console sales have catered over the last decade, it’s interesting to see the show is still one of the biggest ones in the industry, and really a testament to how big the industry has grown that this year’s is the biggest yet.

Tokyo Game Show 2019 will begin on September 12th, and we’ll be covering it, so stay tuned.
