Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4

Activision has confirmed that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside its release on PC (via Steam, Battle.net and Microsoft Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Originally, the title was not confirmed to have a Switch 2 launch, with the belief being that players on the new console could play the Switch version through backwards compatibility.

Alongside on other platforms, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 can now also be pre-ordered for the Switch 2 through the Nintendo eShop. The title has been available for pre-orders on the other platforms’ digital storefronts for quite some time now.

The July 11 release date for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was announced alongside the game itself. As its name implies, the title will feature remakes for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4. Along with the classic skateboarders and maps returning, the game will also include new modern age skateboarders, including Magielyn Didal, who was confirmed as being a part of the game’s roster through a trailer back in March.

Along with confirming Didal, the trailer featuring her also gave us our first looks at the remakes for the THPS 3 Suburbia level, and the THPS 4 Kona level. While not too many details were revealed about the stages, the few things shown did indicate that the remakes for both of the stages will be quite faithful to their original appearances.

A trailer released back in May also confirmed that Bam Margera will be one of the playable Secret Skaters that can be unlocked over the course of the game. The announcement was made through a video, where Margera spoke about having fun the classic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games. Speaking about THPS 2, Margera said that he had so much fun, he ended up missing his flights.

“Finally, after missing six flights, I’m like ‘I gotta put this thing away,’ because this game is just too much fun,” he said.

“In most sports games are just hitting a ball back and forth, until the ball gets past you,” he said. “This game, you can grind the house, you can grind up that pole, you can go down a handrail. You can do endless amounts of things. And everybody, from grandpa to a young kid can love this game.”

“I’m going to have to let myself play video games again because this one will be well worth it. If I start missing flights again, I know where to put it.”

Tony Hawk has spoken about how he wants to bring more of the classic skateboarding games back. In an interview from May, he mentioned his aspirations to bring back the story-based Tony Hawk’s Underground. “I always have aspirations,” Hawk said. “It’s not up to me generally. I’ll campaign all I can, but I’m working with a much bigger company that’s a lot smarter than me.”
