Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach's world was not so much "post-apocalyptic" as it was "apocalyptic". The game mainly focuses on how the Covenant destroyed the entire planet of Reach, and all throughout the game, the gradual destruction of the entire planet is shown very well. Some of the scenes are very hard-hitting indeed. The view of the skyline of a city burning and falling apart, looking at skyscrapers crumbling before our very eyes, seeing dead bodies everywhere. The game was a very… depressing game, to put it correctly. The vistas, while gorgeous, always left a heavy feeling in your heart, because you know the planet you're seeing is crumbling and will be destroyed no matter what.
