#2. TURIANS
Garrus Vakarian is one of the best Mass Effect characters ever (if not the best, period)- that in and of itself would be enough to justify our love for turians, but there’s so many other reasons. For starters, there’s been quite a few other badass turian characters in the series who’ve carved themselves into our memory, especially ME1’s villain, Saren Arterius. On top of that, the turians military might, their general no-nonsense dispositions, and their status as one of the most powerful and influential races in the galaxy also makes them immensely interesting. There’s also the fact that the First Contact War, which saw humans coming into contact with an alien race for the first time ever and taking the turians on in a conflict, is one of the most intriguing pieces of backstory in Mass Effect’s rich trove of lore. Turians are almost always front and center whenever anything important is going down in this series, which means that even if you wanted to (for whatever reason), you wouldn’t be able to dislike them.
