Mistwalker RPGs
The Last Story aside, Mistwalker have stayed faithful to the Xbox brand with the awesome BluevDragon and Lost Odyssey. Okay, so maybe Blue Dragon wasn’t all that, but Lost Odyssey is still one of the best JRPGs of this generation. With The Last Story now finished (though we still haven’t seen it reach Europe, hint hint) we can only hope that Mistwalker will return to give the Xbox some serious RPG goodness.
Alan Wake
Alan Wake had its fair share of problems, with a protracted development cycle being the big one, but there was enough good in there to warrant a sequel. The atmosphere of Alan Wake was involving, and part of this was down to the game’s accomplished visuals. If these could be pushed even further with the Xbox 720, future Alan Wake games could be a real feast for the eyes.
Shadow Complex
With the high quality retail games on 360, it’s easy to forget about some of the great games available on the Xbox Live Arcade. Shadow Complex was a game that was hard to forget though. For what it lacked in innovation it sure was a polished take on the metroidvania genre. I doubt a sequel will be made but, if it ever is, it would be a good showcase for arcade games on the Xbox 720.
Condemned
Condemned is, aside from Dead Space, the best horror series of this generation. With Resident Evil descending into the third person action genre, and the Silent Hill series embarrassing itself with every passing title, Condemned is one of the only really scary games left. Granted, the plot has more holes in it than an old sock, but there is always room for improvement. If Sega can sort out the series’ ridiculous endings, then Condemned 3 could be a real winner on the Xbox 720.
