Fable
I’m going to completely ignore the upcoming Fable: Journey for Kinect when I say that the Fable series has been improving slowly but surely over the years. The Xbox 720 is the perfect vehicle to help bring the lush worlds of Albion to life. As I’m still somewhat unconvinced by Kinect’s introduction to the series, I’m going to ignore Kinect integration in future Fable games in favour of focusing on how the 720’s power will improve the franchise.
Amped
Back when custom soundtracks weren’t part of your console as standard, it was a novelty provided by Xbox exclusive snow boarding title Amped. Amped offered some great gameplay for those who dug deeper, and its fantastic sequel brought the shenanigans online as well. Amped 3 on the Xbox 360 wasn’t quite the same though, with a more simplistic arcade style and a mind-
numbingly poor sense of humour. Amped 4 could return the series to form though, especially with next generation’s hardware behind it.
Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell Conviction was one of the best action titles of last year, and it once again reigned supreme as a Microsoft exclusive. It was able to revive the franchise with a fresh new engine and gameplay focus, but a sequel could really start to refine that formula. If it isn’t released in the 360’s lifetime, let’s hope that the Xbox 720 is graced with the presence of a new Splinter Cell game.
