Metal Gear Rising: Revengeace
Though the Metal Gear games are renowned for their deep gameplay and meaningful stories, they exude a certain sense of cool amidst their tense stealth action. That was until Metal Gear Solid 2, when we took control of the effeminate and gangly Raiden. To rue our criticisms of his character, Kojima brought him back in MGS4 as a really bad ass cyborg ninja. Now we’ll finally get the chance to play as ninja Raiden in Metal Gear Solid: Rising, an action based spin-off to everyone’s favourite stealth franchise.
Halo 4
Who doesn’t love a good match of Halo now and then? As one of the only really solid online games that allows you take three guests online with you, every new instalment of the Halo franchise becomes a staple for the lads night in. Though it may be strange as the first canonical Halo game to be developed by 343 Industries instead of Bungie, only time will tell if there is any noticeable difference in quality.
Tomb Raider
Franchise reboots can always be a bit hit or miss, but there’s no doubt that the Tomb Raider franchise could do with another breath of fresh air. With guns, unexplored wilds and an unusually strong female protagonist, the Tomb Raider franchise has everything a good action game needs. With a younger Ms. Croft, a more open world structure and new and improved gameplay mechanics, the new Tomb Raider should be turning heads when it comes out next year.
