Bravely Second: End Layer
One of the most pleasant surprises in the last few years was Bravely Default. It was impressive how Default simultaneously went back to Final fantasy’s roots with the job based mechanic and how it went forward with strategic stacking of moves. Even better, it was all wrapped around a beautiful art direction that was deceptively cute, for the gameplay was most certainly more on the hardcore side. As far as we know, the gameplay is basically the same, which is definitely a good thing. For those who love the classic JRPG’s of Squaresoft years.
