#7. INFAMOUS SECOND SON
Long before Sucker Punch took over the gaming world with their gorgeous Japanese action adventure game Ghost of Tsushima, they were working on inFamous, Sony’s in house superhero franchise that made a name for itself back on the PS3. Given the popularity of those games, it came as a surprise to no one when Sony announced that a new entry on the franchise would be one of the headlining titles for the PS4. Second Son was a gorgeous game when it released, and an early look at the power and potential of the PS4, though it was admittedly a step down from the previous games in the franchise in many ways. In spite of that, however, the game went on to be a success, which can be attributed to its new lead, new location, new story, and new powers, all of which led to an inFamous game that felt distinctly unique. With Ghost of Tsushima being such a big bit, it’s unclear whether or not Sucker Punch plan on returning to the inFamous franchise. But if they don’t, and if Second Son was the final full installment, then at least it’s a very high note to go out on.
