King of Fighters XIV

Though not the most graphically intense fighter on this list, King of Fighters XIV succeeds by sticking to its guns in a number of other ways. The new Max Mode, three different Supers for each character and Just Defend give battles delightfully old-school feel while still being fresh in their own unique ways. The roster size is also great with 50 characters available at launch and multiplayer also fairly well executed. It’s not the most revolutionary game in the franchise but King of Fighters XIV is a very fun game in its own right.
