Dead Space Remake
Stepping aboard the USG Ishimura in Dead Space’s 2023 remake feels incredibly unnerving, even if you’ve played the original and know the gore-filled calamity about to unfold. This, in part, is down to the ship’s recreation: a twisting labyrinth of colossal proportion, modified just enough as to easily lose your bearings in the dark. Dead Space always excelled in sound design to, and the remake’s immersive audio pinpointing the still harrowing Necromorphs as they scuttle through ventilation shafts is borderline traumatising. Dead Space 2023 is an example of how all remakes should be done.
