Final Fantasy V was reputedly slated for U.S. release not once but twice before it finally showed up.

Don’t you just love it when a game gets a release date, but doesn’t show up months later? OK, that was a rhetorical question, but yes we all hate it when that happens, especially when it is an anticipated game. Well Final Fantasy V didn’t show up in the U.S. until seven years after its Japanese debut, imagine that 7 years. Apparently the developers planned this all along, after a series of debacles, the game was released and so was the awful English script in the eventual U.S. release of the game.
