If you decide not to side with the Institute at the end, then it’s possible to nuke them into oblivion. In a call back to Fallout 3, you stand at a good distance, push the button and watch the devastating power of the nuke first-hand while the aftershock and smoke washes over the entire region. The Far Harbor DLC goes even further, letting you cause a mass suicide among the Children of Atom through nuclear detonation (after convincing High Confessor Tektus that it’s the right path, of course). That’s not including the usual Fat Man that can launch mini-nukes.
