Turtle Rock Studios’ Evolve has been mired in controversy due to its multitudes of DLC at launch but the game’s beauty shines through on many occasions. It’s funny, because an arena multiplayer shooter would be fairly limited in scope compared to many of the games on this list.
Nonetheless, Evolve puts in the effort to properly convey its theme of four rough Hunters hunting down a single Monster in the dangerous wilderness. From the rugged skin of the Goliath to the sheer detail of environmental hazards like crocodile hybrids, Turtle Rock Studios mixes natural environments with broken, futuristic structures to convey an almost Alien-like aura. It also helps that various other effects like particles, water physics and weather look amazing.
The PC version as always offers the best possible visuals, especially with its numerous AA solutions, so check that out above all if you can.
