No Man’s Sky

Why No Man's Sky

Hello Games’ open-ended space exploration sim No Man’s Sky has impressed everyone with its massive scale and eye-popping visuals. Though the overall direction seems to be exploration and pretty much doing what you want, No Man’s Sky does indeed have a goal. How quickly can you get to the centre of the universe? It’s like Minecraft but with a plot, better graphics and space sim elements.

You’ll collect resources to upgrade your ship, traverse to new planets to discover wildlife, run into some harrowing dogfights and progress ever closer. The kicker is that other players also exist in the wide, wide universe of No Man’s Sky but that they’re each on their own planet, doing their own thing, making their own journey.

Sure, one may not bump into their friend at the start – in fact, the developer has more or less guaranteed that outside of public lobbies, you won’t be running into other players that often – but the point of No Man’s Sky is your own journey and how unique you make it.
