This is one fact, where I could not believe it, because it meant that Doug Rattman was critically important to the story of Portal and Portal 2, because he was trying to defeat the maniacal GlaDOS. When Doug realized that the unconscious Chell had been dragged back into the facility, he tried to rescue her, only to fail. However he did manage to find her eventually and place her in long-term stasis, thus setting up the events of Portal 2.
