Guitar Freaks- Guitar Hero
Guitar Hero is quite a huge success no doubt, but the best thing about this game was that the developers came on to the stage and presented this game, as if this was their original idea all along. The truth is the game owes a lot of its triumph to Guitar Freaks which is a music video game series produced by Konami. The player uses a controller to create the playing of an electric guitar (Now you may see a pattern forming here). Guitar Freaks became a huge hit in Japan and as such with any success, a number of large corporations decided to take interest. Red Octane and Harmonix did a number on Konami and before they knew it the company got the license for rock classics like Smoke on the Water and Iron Man. By 2009, Guitar Hero and its sequels had generated over $2 billion.
