Total War: Three Kingdoms Introduces Yellow Turban Faction In New DLC

The rebel faction comes in Mandate of Heaven.

Total War: Three Kingdoms was a big shakeup for the long running strategy series. Not only did it radically change the setting to one the series had never seen before with The Romance of the Three Kingdoms era Chinese setting, it changed some core fundamentals about the franchise. And now more is coming, with something that will be familiar to history buffs.

As detailed in the video below, the new DLC, Mandate of Heaven, will introduce the Yellow Turban faction. Three sub-factions of Zhang Jue, Zhang Liang, and Zhang Bao will be added, which with their own unique play styles and stance. Check it out below.

The Yellow Turban Rebellion was a peasant uprising that occurred in 184 AD. While the rebellion was ultimately surpressed, it was used in the opening to The Romance of the Three Kingdoms epic that Total War is based primarily on. You can relive it in game form with the DLC, which is live now.
