Ubisoft is planning to bid for THQ’s IPs

Saints Row and WWE are precious IPs.

Ubisoft may be planning to buy Ubisoft’s IPs, according to a rumour by MCV. They say that a lot of companies are trying to acquire these IPs, but their sources say Ubisoft is among them as well.

Now, I am not really against Ubisoft buying their IPs, because they have turned into one of the best publishers of this gen, and even this year they have churned out some incredible games, and also have a solid vision for next gen.

According to MCV’s sources “it is already in lengthy discussions with the firm (and presumably its new owners at Clearlake investments) to forge a deal.”

“Price, however, is the obvious clincher – nose-tappers say that Ubisoft is after a bargain buy, and is prepared to hold-out until THQ is forced to sell off specific assets, as happened to now-defunct Midway when it went into bankruptcy four years ago.”

Well Ubisoft does have every right to go after them but I think only two IPs are really valuable here: Saints Row and WWE, other than that, I would not place my bets on Darksiders since it has not sold so well.
