Ubisoft Massive director Julian Gerighty kicked off the new year with a tweet that seemingly teased an announcement for its upcoming Star Wars project. Gerighty has since clarified, “To be clear, I meant that 2023 will be huge for our teams building our game (which you could be a part of!).” He further asked fans to stay tuned for official news from Ubisoft.
To be fair, Gerighty didn’t confirm or deny that an announcement for the title would be coming this year. The studio is currently working on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, which is planned to release sometime between April 1st, 2023, to March 31st, 2024, but it wouldn’t be strange for Ubisoft to provide some update before that. While time will ultimately tell, don’t hold your breath.
Ubisoft Massive’s Star Wars title was announced in January 2021 and confirmed to be in an “early stage” of development. It’s developed on the Snowdrop Engine, with the developer seeking playtesters last month. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the meantime.
This seems to have sparked quite some interest!
