Uncharted 3 Beta: 10 Fixes That Need To Be Made

Collision detection issues

The strong platforming elements are what has always given the Uncharted series an edge over other competing third person shooters. Whilst it is as satisfying as ever in Uncharted 3, there are often a few collision issues that prevent it from achieving its full potential. You’ll find yourself  getting stuck on the scenery whilst climbing now and then, sometimes resulting in you falling off the wall entirely if you’re unlucky. They are small glitches, but something to improve upon all the same.

More power plays

In an attempt to balance out matches, the losing teams in Uncharted 3 games can take advantage of power plays. Power plays occur randomly during team games, and give the losing team an advantage in some way. It may be increased strength, the ability to see enemies anywhere on the map, or an objective you can complete for extra points. I thought these were a really fun addition that add new elements to the online arena. There isn’t much variety in them yet though, so let’s hope Naughty Dog can add just a few more variables for the full game.

Taunts

The whole taunt thing is a fun idea and all, but there’s just something wrong with the presentation. In a game with as fluid animations as Uncharted 3, the taunting animations are pretty poor. They look unnatural, overly fast and kind of stupid. They need to be changed, I don’t really care how. At the moment I’m just trying to pretend they don’t exist, but I’d rather not have to do this in the full game.
