Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End released in May 2016 and effectively ended Nathan Drake’s story on a high note. Its sales continue to hit new heights though – Sony announced that the PS4 exclusive has sold 8.7 million copies worldwide through digital and retail outlets as of December 21st.

The current number could thus be higher at this point. It also noted that the Uncharted 4 PS4 bundle was one of the most popular deals for the company.

Uncharted 4 has been the recipient of several Game of the Year awards and continues to receive updates for its multiplayer. Naughty Dog is also currently working on the standalone title Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Set in India, it stars Uncharted 2’s Chloe and Uncharted 4 antagonist Nadine. It’s expected to arrive later this year.
