Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord, a tactical strategy RPG set in a medieval fantasy world, is out now for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Developed by the team behind 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, it focuses on crown prince Alain as he ventures to Fevirth to free it from the clutches of the traitorous general Valmore. Check out the launch trailer below.

Even with the Liberation Army by his side, it’s not an easy task. Alain can recruit more allies by exploring, meeting different characters (over 60 in total) and completing side quests. The campaign involves liberating towns and forts and rebuilding them to allow vendors and taverns to operate for various benefits.

Combat is akin to auto-battling, with players able to set conditions for skills and passives going in. They can also swap units in battle to reinforce others, with several classes to choose from. For more details, check out the combat trailer here. Unfortunately, despite Atlus bringing several of its current titles to PC, there are no plans to port Unicorn Overlord to the platform.
