Unreal Engine Tegra K1 Gameplay Demo Looks Astonishingly Good

Holy crap.

At CES today, Nvidia unveiled a lot of goodness, including the Tegra K1, a mobile GPU that apparently far outclasses the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in terms of its visual prowess.

With a whopping 192 CUDA cores (no, you read that right), the Tegra K1 is a new mobile chip that reaffirms the company’s belief in an Android gaming future.

“We believe the Android operating system will be the most important console operating system in the future,” said Nvidia CEO and co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang said at the company’s CES 2014 presentation.

To demonstrate what can be done on this chipset, check out the new Unreal Engine 4 demo above as demonstrated by Epic Games. It looks staggeringly good, and if Nvidia is indeed serious about pushing mobile chipset based gaming as hard as they seem to be, we might be looking at an all new kind of console/handheld war in the coming years.

Only time will tell. For now, stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.
