Ever since Sega announced Valkyria Chronicles 4, it’s tried to position it as a return to the first game’s style of combat and story-telling especially with how it’s set around the same time as the first game. To further reinforce the connection, Sega has announced downloadable content called “Joint Battle With Squad 7” that features the cast from Valkyria Chronicles.
Along with playing as Edelweiss, Alicia, Largo, Rosie and Isara, completion of the DLC will also unlock these characters for Valkyria Chronicles 4. There will also be “Advanced Special Operations” DLC which will have weapons for early use in the game. This DLC will be available as a first print bonus and will confer the idol Edy as a playable character.
Japanese players will have even more to look forward to with the “Valkyria Chronicles 10th Anniversary Memorial Pack” which is a limited edition of the game for PS4. It features the soundtrack on CD, an artbook with illustrations by character designer Raita Honjou and “Joint Battle With Squad 7”. Whether players can purchase the DLC separately is currently unknown but expect an announcement in the coming months.
