Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has had quite the troubled history of development. After suffering numerous delays and losing its original developer Hardsuit Labs, Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrik Wester admitted that it was almost close to cancelling the project. Fortunately, it seems development is back on with a new studio at the helm.

As reported by CFO Alexander Bricca in the company’s recent Q3 interim report stream, “The new developer is doing quite well and we are happy with the progress of the project now, but it’s still quite some time before we can start talking about release dates.” That being said, Paradox isn’t ready to discuss the identity of the new studio just yet.

“We prefer to give the studio a situation where they can focus fully on the game development and not having to address fans reaching out to them so, therefore, we have so far not disclosed the name of the studio, and we are very happy to keep it that way for still some time.”

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. It sees players taking on the role of a newly created vampire following a mass embrace (which saw several other vampires breaking the Masquerade). Along with three disciplines that provide varying abilities, one can also choose from different clans, either embracing power via the Brujah or crippling minds with the Malkavian’s powers. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
