6. Muscle Pulls – “Stretching? What’s that?”
Thanks to Nintendo and Kinect, injuries sustained by gamers have seen quite a new variety. Adding to sore and blistered thumbs are the vows of sore muscles, aching joints and even dislocated shoulders. There’s a reason that sportspersons stretch and warm up before doing their thing.
With the new age of interactive games, that couch bound gamer suddenly bounded to his/her feet and started whipping about his/her arms frantically to get that virtual ball across the net and ultimately ending up with pulled muscles, aching joints and body soreness for days to come. While it’s appreciated that the initiative to get rid of couch gaming has been largely successful, gamers should take responsibility their bodies. Next time you grab the remote for a Wii Sports or a Kinect Star Wars dance session, spare a moment to warm yourself up for the challenge.
