WARDOGS Hits 2 Million Sales in Five Days

"We made a game we wanted to play with friends. Watching you play it with yours has been the best," says Bulkhead Studios.

Five days after entering early access and selling over one million copies, Bulkhead’s WARDOGS has reached a new milestone. It’s now sold two million copies, as the developer says it’s “beyond humbled” by the response.

“We made a game we wanted to play with friends. Watching you play it with yours has been the best.”

Of course, before this, the military sim hit a new peak concurrent player count of 428,666 on Steam. Though reviews were initially “Mixed” because of long queues (priority for streamers also didn’t help), it’s since jumped to “Very Positive.” Of the 35,079 user reviews so far, 85 percent have recommended the game, praising it as a strong middle ground between the unforgiving realism of ARMA and the arcade-ness of Battlefield.

What’s more impressive is that WARDOGS is in early access. While the core of the game is fully playable, Bulkhead Studios has confirmed plans to add more maps, vehicles, weapons, and more, alongside more “in-depth” progression systems and a “seasonal meta game.” More importantly, it’s targeting one to two years for early access with plans to raise the price.

If 1.0 eventually launches by 2028, then it may arrive alongside the recently announced Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions. Nothing is confirmed, but for now, WARDOGS is a surprise hit and a worthwhile alternative for those tired of Battlefield 6 (and not exactly enthusiastic about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4). Stay tuned for more details and updates, and check out the developer’s top ten reasons not to consider early access.
