Between cross-save and a new cinematic quest, Warframe’s next update, Whispers in the Walls, is pretty significant. However, perhaps the biggest change that will help new players finally catch up with veterans is the removal of Mastery Rank requirements, as outlined in the new Devstream.
Mastery Rank is earned from leveling up weapons, Warframes, Archwings, K-Drives and more, with players taking a Mastery Test to level up. Failing to do so means you have to try again, and since it’s necessary for reaching cinematic quests, it can be a pain for new players. That’s all changing in the next update, and players can jump into quests, like Whispers in The Walls, even if they’re relatively new to the game.
As a result, the Story Skip pack will now be a Level Skip pack for gaining a quick boost and playing tougher content. It’s worth noting that Mastery Rank isn’t going away and will still be required for using certain weapons, increasing the daily maximum Syndicate standing and Focus points, and more.
Whispers in the Walls goes live in December, with a new look coming at The Game Awards on December 7th. Stay tuned in the meantime for more details.
