Warframe’s Gara Receiving Changes to Mass Vitrify, Fans Upset

The glass-based Warframe will see her ultimate nerfed to offer "more dynamic encounters".

When Digital Extremes debuted Warframe’s Plains of Eidolon update, it also introduced a brand new Frame to the mix named Gara. This glass-based Warframe boasted an extremely interesting skill-set that didn’t become immediately obvious until later. Gara was capable of stacking up to 90 percent damage reduction and increasing damage that could potentially one-shot level 100 enemies.

However, she also had an ability called Mass Vitrify that created an impenetrable glass barrier that enemies couldn’t pass through. And when we say “impenetrable”, we mean just that – it couldn’t be destroyed by enemies. Recognizing this, the developer has announced that an upcoming update will cause Mass Vitrify to “eventually break apart in sections when enough damage has been dealt to that specific section of the glass wall.” Armour modes and ability power strength determine the overall health of the wall created.

Of course, fans are upset about this because another Frame named Frost can cast multiple barriers with more benefits at once while Gara only had one impenetrable barrier. Now that it’s no longer impenetrable, she becomes a little less potent.

However, fans are especially annoyed because – on top of how long it takes to get Gara – Mass Vitrify wasn’t even the biggest issue she had. The infinitely scaling damage was. Regardless, we’ll see how these changes play out, especially with how the response has been to Frames like Volt.
