Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader

While the first developer diary for Owlcat Games’ Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader was focused on the setting, allies, and choices, the latest is all about the profession itself. What does it mean to be a Rogue Trader? Find out below.

Set in the Koronus Expanse, a long way from the Imperium’s armies and fleets, the region is largely unexplored. It’s still perilous, though, with heretics, Xenos and monsters. Exploration falls on the Rogue Traders, who have been granted “all but unlimited rights and privileges.” Establishing colonies and rediscovering long-lost civilizations is one thing but the player character has the added advantage of deciding their path.

As you journey forth, there are mysteries to solve, treasures to find and even worlds to rule over (both for your benefit and the Emperor’s). You’re also granted a voidship with military forces and thousands of individuals who will establish future settlements. It’s risky though, given the planets teeming with radiation, wandering pirates and even Warp travel.

These are only a few things that players will experience as a Rogue Trader, with more to be revealed later. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is in development for consoles and PC. A release window hasn’t been announced, but those who pre-order the Founder’s Pack on PC can access the beta.
