Owlcat Games’ Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is out next week for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. In a new trailer, the developer details how combat works, whether you’re fighting from ranged or getting up close and personal. Check it out below.
Ranged combat depends on your roll plus Ballistic Skill, with the chance to dodge being 30 plus the percentage of the target’s Agility minus the attacker’s Perception. Cover is vital since full cover grants a 60 percent chance to avoid shots, while partial cover only gives 35 percent. Effective range is also important since that reduces your hit chance.
Melee combat relies on weapon skill and Agility, and while you’ll always land an attack, an enemy may dodge or parry the hit. Look for weapons that can alter those stats on enemies, and position fellow melee combatants close to targets since they add +10 to Weapon Skill.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader launches on December 7th. Head here for more details on the various choices and consequences you’ll run into.
