Though Focus Entertainment dropped some new gameplay for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 at Gamescom 2023, there’s more to come. The publisher confirmed extended gameplay presentations for the upcoming hack-and-slash third-person shooter and DON’T NOD’s Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden on August 30th at 9 AM PDT/12 PM EDT.
Banishers: Ghost of New Eden is an action-adventure RPG focused on Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith. After the former dies and becomes a spirit, Raith seeks a way to bring her back (even if it goes against the Banisher oath). Both characters are playable, with Duarte relying on supernatural abilities while Raith focuses on magic and weapons.
Of course, there are also choices to make that will affect the story and its characters. It’s out on November 7th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
As for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, it’s the long-awaited sequel to the 2011 cult classic, with new mechanics, higher fidelity and co-op. Releasing this Winter for current-gen platforms, perhaps the extended showcase will reveal its release date. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
