Watch Dogs Delay Will “Prove to be Right Decision” for Fans and Shareholders

Ubisoft's current long term goal is "win the next generation".

Watch Dogs has been delayed until Spring 2014, prompting many an angry and shocked response from the gaming community (The Crew was also delayed – guess how many people cared?). Ubisoft faced falling stock shares and retailers had to send assurances that pre-orders were still on track.

Despite the seemingly negative response that the delay has met, Ubisoft remains steadfast. Speaking to IGN, a representative said, “Our long-term goal is to win the next generation. The tough decisions we took to fully realize the major potential of our new creations have an impact on our short-term performance but we are convinced that, longer term, they will prove to be the right decisions both in terms of satisfaction for our fans and in terms of value creation for our shareholders. We are building franchises that will become perennial pillars of Ubisoft’s financial performance.”
