We Happy Few

Like most games that launch these days, Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few also comes with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro enhancements. We recently spoke with the development team of the game, and they gave us information on how it runs on the two enhanced consoles.

While the Xbox One X version of the game runs in 4K, the PS4 Pro version, sadly enough, only renders at a 1080p output. Meanwhile, the game targets a frame rate of 30 frames per second, though the developers claim they’re still working on updating the target FPS. In a statement to GamingBolt, a representative from Compulsion Games stated that “Xbox One X is in 4K. PS4 Pro is 1080. Target framerate is 30fps but we’re still working on the update to hit that target fps. Our framerate is not guided by resolution – for our game in particular, it’s purely a CPU concern on consoles.”

After a long time of wait and anticipating, We Happy Few finally launched a few days ago on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and it’s fair to say that it didn’t exactly live up to what many people may have been expecting. It’s not a bad game per se, but some persisting issues and a bevy of glitches hold it back from being more than just mediocre. You can read our full impressions in our review.
