DOOM was a surprisingly great port on the Nintendo Switch when it launched on the platform last year, courtesy of Bethesda, id Software, and Panic Button. Bethesda had also confirmed that Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, the much acclaimed sequel to their hit reboot of the classic franchise, would be coming to the Switch this year.
Now, we have finally gotten to see it in action—albeit only off screen. The game’s Switch version was being exhibited at PAX, and USGamer managed to capture some footage of it in action. Obviously, the footage here is in docked mode, so it’s not clear how the game might look in handheld mode. But even so, from what I can see of it, it actually looks like a surprisingly great port.
You can check out the footage for yourself below. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is due to launch on the Switch later this year; it is also available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC right now.
And some Wolfenstein 2 gameplay on Switch. Obviously want to know how this one looks in handheld mode. pic.twitter.com/0krWKkIfAo
