Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Is Not The Last Game In The Series

You know what the series is leading to.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus looks absolutely freaking fantastic- Bethesda’s unique sense of style, and Machine Game’s flair for fast paced gameplay and kinetic action, are all coming together to deliver what may be a very fitting sequel to the cult classic 2014 reboot of the series.

If, for any reason you were worried about this, The New Colossus will not be the last game in the series. I don’t know why you’d possibly worry about this, given that we have had literally zero indications as to this, so this would be the most out of the left field development ever- but speaking in a video, Machine Games creative director Jens Matthies said that this will not be the final game- in fact, they always envisioned their take on the Wolfenstein universe as a trilogy.

“We always envisioned this as a trilogy. If we get to make the third one–once we introduce Mecha-Hitler, you can’t go up from there,” Matthies said, referencing the famous final boss in Wolfenstein 3D.

Of course, even if they do intend to make this narrative arc a trilogy, we hope that the franchise continues- Wolfenstein is too good and too important to be lost.
