Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Targeting 60FPS On Consoles

This is excellent news for those who will play this on consoles.

One of the most anticipated upcoming games for this year is Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Machine Games’ follow up to their breakout hit 2014 revival of the classic FPS franchise by id Software. The game, which is going to be an epic single player FPS without the multiplayer trappings of modern games in the genre, certainly stands out from other titles, due to its fast paced gameplay, and its impeccable sense of style and world building.

And, it sounds like it will also continue the series’ tradition for speed- speaking to WCCFTech, Arcade Berg, Senior Game Designer at MachineGames confirmed that the game will be targeting 60FPS on consoles. This is excellent news- although, of course, there is the possibility that the game drops framerates or stutters every now and then.

But given the sheer talent that is going into building this game. we’ll give it the benefit of the doubt on this one. I do wonder whether the 60fps frame rate will also carry over into the Switch version- but judging by the fact that it did not for DOOM, it is unlikely. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus launches on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 27, with a Switch release coming next year.
