Kuro Game released a cinematic trailer for its upcoming free-to-play action RPG Wuthering Waves, confirming its release date. However, that’s not all, as a new global launch trailer is available, teasing some details on the central conflict. Check it out below.

Set on the Lament-ravaged Solaris-3, the player character awakens with no memories. Venturing with the Resonators, they learn of humanity’s enemies, the Threnodians. One is to awaken soon, but the player can absorb different enemies and bosses, gaining their abilities for combat, similar to a “legendary hero” from the past.

How this all fits together remains to be seen, but there is the tease of other opposing characters, including those questioning whether the player will follow the rules or break free. We’ll hopefully find out more details about the plot in the coming months. If Punishing: Grey Raven is any indication, many answers will be revealed in post-launch updates.

Wuthering Waves launches on May 22nd for PC via the Epic Games Store, iOS and Android.
