With plenty of exciting announcements for their Xbox One-targeted TV shows and 18 months of preparation before the console’s initial reveal, Xbox Entertainment Studios head Nancy Tellem feels that Microsoft is significantly more committed to the cause than Sony.

“Microsoft’s dedicated a whole studio to support this kind of content development. Original content is something that everyone’s toying with right now. It’s very unclear how committed they are to that on PlayStation.”

Tellem also spoke about having the kind of access that working with Microsoft usually brings. “Whether it’s from a game like Fable, or Age of Empires, or Gears of War, or Forza or Halo. These are things that, frankly if we weren’t attached to Microsoft, everyone would yearn to have. It’s an amazing platform to work from.”

As of now, Sony has announced Powers for PlayStation while Microsoft has revealed Halo: The Television Series and, more recently, Humans for the Xbox One. How these efforts will pan out remains to be seen but considering the creative talent Microsoft is employing, the Xbox One could have the advantage. Stay tuned.
