PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the popular Battle Royale title has been taking the Xbox user base by storm, though the game is clearly a bit constrained by the console hardware, with plenty of performance hiccups. As the game is technically in active development, it’s easy to overlook for now, but it seems that one possible band-aid in the meantime is to turn off the Game DVR feature.

On the game Subreddit, user Kiwigreen69 was experimenting with settings to see what he could squeeze from his Xbox One X, and would report back his findings that the game saw immediate improvement in load in time, FPS and draw distance. As another user, LoadedGull explains, the slow storage employed by the Xbox One family is the culprit, and when the system isn’t trying to hold onto the last 30 seconds of gameplay constantly, that does help speed things along.

Are are you enjoying the game despite the technical shortcomings? Sound off in the comments.
