Microsoft’s Games With Gold program for Xbox Live Gold subscribers is still going strong and continues to dole out old Xbox 360 games for free. Major Nelson has announced that December’s Games With Gold will include Epic’s Gears of War (yes, the first one) from December 1st to December 15th and Demiurge Studios’ multiplayer Shoot Many Robots from December 16th to 31st.
Gears of War helped kickstart the entire franchise, which has since gone to be extremely successful for both Epic and Microsoft. Since Gears of War 2, the series has been exclusive to the Xbox 360 (the first game also released on PC) with the latest title in the series being Gears of War: Judgment developed by People Can Fly.
Meanwhile, Shoot Many Robots released in 2012 for Xbox Live Arcade and is also available for Android and PSN. As a shooter, it involved gunning down many robots. That’s about the gist of it.
