The biggest release for the Xbox One this year will be Gears of War 4 without a doubt- Microsoft’s second biggest franchise will see its first new numbered entry in five years, and that is always a big deal. Microsoft will undoubtedly be throwing all of their marketing muscle into pushing this game, and that may also mean a special edition Xbox One S console, it sounds like.
Microsoft insider Ekim posted on Twitter, noting that an Xbox One S console in the style of the Gears of War 4 Elite Controller that was announced at E3 this year may be in the works- meaning that there might be a Gears of War 4 themed Limited Edition Xbox One S console. It sounds like the SKU would be a 2TB one; however, Ekim also noted that he can’t be sure on when the Gears 4 Xbox One may release.
Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt, since it’s not an official announcement- but still, given just how major a release Gears 4 will be, the suggestion is not outrageous. Gears of War 4, on its part, is due out on October 11. The Xbox One S launches in August.
