Despite promises that we’d be seeing online streaming via Twitch TV on the Xbox One in Q1 2014 – after Microsoft had delayed the same at launch time for their next-gen console – it appears that we’re going to wait a bit longer.

The official Twitter for Twitch Support recently stated that, “Xbox One Direct Broadcasting: There is no ETA at this time from Microsoft. Expect a few more months. If we know sooner, we’ll update.” It appears the problem is from Microsoft’s end then, which is even more troublesome considering the delays its imposed till now.

Meanwhile, the PS4 is enjoying online streaming via Twitch and UStream with Sony stating that more than 1.7 million videos have been streamed via their console. Twitch itself stated that 20 percent of its user base is streaming from Sony’s console.

As for the Xbox One, take this recent delay to mean that we won’t be seeing Twitch TV in this quarter.
