MICROSOFT DROPPING LOCKHART

That Microsoft will enter the next generation of consoles with multiple Xbox SKUs is something that’s been in the rumour mill for a long time, but for a while last year, reports were claiming that they had dropped their plans for the cheaper, less powerful Lockhart. As per these reports, due to the console’s weaker specs and Microsoft wanting to focus on xCloud (more on this in a bit), plans for Lockhart had been put on hold- in retrospect, it seems that those were inaccurate assertions. To be fair, the Lockhart still hasn’t been officially announced yet, but it may as well have been. We know that it’s called the Xbox Series S, we’ve seen its controller, its specs have been leaked, it’s supposed to be revealed soon– we’re at a point where an official reveal is just a formality.
