If you play a ton of online games on your Xbox Series X|S, you’re probably going to be very happy with a recent tweet from newly appointed Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma.
She brings some welcome news, with both consoles set to receive the option to disable Quick Resume on titles. The feature has been known to have issues with online games, and it’s a complaint that many users have lamented about over the years.
Although Quick Resume can be quite handy on single-player titles, the option to turn it off where it doesn’t behave as intended is a step in the right direction for Microsoft’s current-gen powerhouses. The new toggle can be accessed by clicking “More” when you’re on a game’s tile in the Dashboard and either enabling or disabling Quick Resume for it. Nice and simple.
It’s already rolling out to Xbox Insider Beta members with a more expansive update coming over the next few weeks. There are also new customization options and some quality-of-life improvements to the UI to make navigation feel more intuitive.
Microsoft’s efforts to bring a wider feature set to its existing consoles is most welcome, even as rumors suggest that its upcoming next-gen machine is still going to have a tough time competing with the PS6 in the not-so-distant future.
