While the Microsoft Xbox One team has had a couple of bumps in the road, there’s very little doubt that the marketing of the new console has been top notch. That top notch approach to getting the console in front of the public was honored recently at the Game Marketing Awards 2016.

The marketing team took home more than 10 separate awards including Marketing Team of the Year. While that was a nice award to take home, the team likely was plenty pleased to also nab smaller awards like Standout Outdoor Advertising and Thinking Outside of the Box.

Despite the rather impressive marketing campaigns Microsoft ‘s Xbox One is still trailing the Sony PS4 by quite a lot in the units sold department. Perhaps that will change soon with this team’s efforts. The company has planned a lot of announcements at this year’s E3 so that may change Xbox One’s fortune later this year.
