XCOM 2, the hit 2016 turn based strategy game, received an unexpected update on the Xbox One today- an update that adds Xbox One X enhancements to the game. Given that there was zero indication that the game would be updated to support Microsoft’s new super powered console, this must have come as a welcome surprise to its owners.
The exact specifics of what the update adds are a bit unclear, though it seems as though at the very least, it makes the framerate for the game, infamously unstable on consoles, be a bit steadier, if nothing else. Hopefully, someone will perform a full round of testing on the patch soon, so we know exactly what it is that the enhancements brought to the table.
XCOM 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One; an expansion for the game, War of the Chosen, was launched on the same platforms last year as well.
